MONÉS monlansa, European wool tops and scoureds, serving the creativity of our clientele of spinners and weavers around the world.
As always, despite two convulsive decades that have turned the wool sector on its head, we continue to serve the creativity of our clientele of spinners and weavers around the world with our tops, scoureds and noils made of European wool, and always under the most rigid standards of quality. Only with a quality control system down to the smallest detail, from the farm's gate to sorting and processing, is it possible to achieve this with European wool (a product which is in most cases poorly treated, being a somewhat marginal byproduct of the European sheep industry; quite different from what occurs in the Southern hemisphere).
Antoni Monés y Giner (1912-2010) creates a small wool company in Sabadell, Spain. Over the next 65 years the company grows and proves a long lasting business venture, reflecting the personality of its founders and operators
MONES monlansa completes the internationalization of its business operations after the "Stabilization Plan" of 1959 does away with the autarky of the Spanish economy which had prevailed since 1939.
As a Spanish partner of note, Antoni Mones y Giner co-founds "Peinaje del Rio LLobregat" which is established in Manresa, Espana, under the initiative of the principal international group in the sector, Prouvost, thus putting in place the most rigid international standards of quality control.
MONES monlansa commences complex international trade operations, i.e. "barters," such as the trade of greasy wool for "tops" with Eastern european countries which continue throughout the 1960's.
New markets for the sector open leading to new operations in locations such as China through out the 1980's.
MONES monlansa establishes trade and production facilities in Hungary which continue throughout the 1990's.
